MAIN’s Kenya first contact point is to connect our interventions with boys and men. At this stage, our interventions work to build trust and friendship with the rights holders. At this introduction stage, the project develops a convergence and a social contract on eradicating patriarchy and the concept of a transformed man.

Convince:

Strengthening of capacity and knowledge about manhood. The push for personal transformation and a process towards peer to peer social transformation is cocreated with stakeholders. Boys and men at this stage challenge themselves on patriarchal systems, attitudes, and structures. They also account for their actions at individua or peer-to-peer levels in promoting transformative masculinities.

Convert:

At this stage, boys and men have gained a deeper understanding of patriarchy and are able to push for legislative and policy changes. They are able to sustain community actions, support local constituencies of men and engage in advocacy. The main advocacy target includes religious and cultural institutions, duty bearers, and policymakers at county and national level.
